Most couriers simply lift and hope. At Venture, we've created a controlled system based on real physics — reducing strain, protecting your property, and keeping every item perfectly safe on its journey upstairs.
What makes stair movement difficult:
In white glove, dropping a pallet at the customer’s doorstep and leaving isn’t an option, and often includes “room of placement” delivery.
Our team of trained handlers carefully bring each item into the property, position it in the exact room requested, and ensure it’s safely set down, undamaged, and ready for installation or use.
A 100 kg cabinet moving up a 40° staircase effectively pulls downhill with about 65 kg of force. Essentially, the cabinet has a perceived weight of 165Kg, which even for a two man team is too heavy.
Rather than fight the weight and force, we use physics to manage it — converting potential energy into controlled tension and friction.
Lay out the main components;
| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| HDPE slide panels | Create a smooth, scratch-free ramp over treads to eliminate bumps and shocks. |
| Stair sled base (ply + HDPE) | Low, stable platform that spreads load; cabinet is strapped to the sled, not dragged by its feet. |
| Ratchet straps | Secure the cabinet to the sled and provide positive “progress-capture” at pauses. |
| Pulley & control line (single or multi-sheave) | Mechanical advantage for calm, centimetre-by-centimetre control; prevents rollback. |
| Sandbag anchor board | Portable, floor-safe ballast (on rubber mat) so no loads are applied to customer fixtures. |
| Rubber mats & edge pads | High-friction base under anchors; protects floors, skirtings, and bannisters. |
| Cargo bar / A-frame (optional) | Alternative top-of-stair anchor with wide, padded feet for zero-mark bracing. |
| Two-person team & comms | Top operator controls tension; lower operator guides and stabilises. Clear commands at each tread. |
This method means there are no sudden lifts, no risk to banisters or flooring, and no stress to our team or your property. It’s one of the quietest, safest ways to move valuable furniture upstairs — and every Venture crew is trained in it.
